Wait -- even more depressing than having AI in Memphis to eat into Mayo's (and Conley's) PT?! Looking at his numbers from 82games.com, Mayo actually did spend enough time (in my mind) at PG to justify combo guard status.

Another single eligibility to take note of (and post updated btw).

Thanks for the heads up and thanks for reading/commenting, John-o.

The most depressing thing for me is that OJ Mayo is now a SG only (he was a combo last year).

Yeah, Yahoo seems to have a problem with giving enough eligibility to the really versatile types (Diaw, W. Chandler, A. Randolph, Marion).

For me, Millsap at SF and not at C was the most puzzling. I found it funny that both Battier and Ariza got SF and nothing else. Interested to see how much time they spend on the floor together...

Some of the ones that stood out to me in the first 100 or so top players:

You can't tell me that Wilson Chandler doesn't deserve a PF notation (he played a TON of time there last season). If you're given Diaw SF, why not C too? Ariza no SG? Jason Thompson no C?

@Kevin: Yeah, I've been noticing the dual eligibility thing for rookies too. I remember reading somewhere that Yahoo! was going to toughen up on rookies' eligibility after last season but that definitely didn't happen. T. Williams' and D. DeRozan's triple eligibility was probably the most interesting to me because there were no other players (that I saw) that had triple eligibility.

@mr. gm: Dooling is a joke; he should definitely have SG eligibility. I agree that Granger should probably have PF eligibility in addition to his SG/SF eligibility; he's just so versatile. Yahoo! must have read my post and corrected KG's eligibility, LOL. I've updated the post to reflect your correction. I am skeptical as to BG as point guard, not because I don't think he can do it but because I think Will Bynum is going to demand and earn minutes at the one. Westbrook and Randolph are both flabergasting as AR should probably have quadruple eligibility due to his incredible versatility. I think Ariza should also have two guard status. Regarding Moon, I disagree on the PF status. I think, actually, Lebron should get the four, as I think Moon plays the three and Bron plays the four when they are on the court together. And again with Rudy, makes no sense to me.

Thanks for the comments, gentlemen.

Yahoo has been giving 2 position eligibility to the rookies for a few years. Even if the guy is obviously a point guard or obviously a shooting guard, they just look at it like: he's a guard, so he gets pg-sg and he's a forward so he gets sf-pf.

Um, Dooling is the definition of a combo guard. I believe he will pick up more PT at SG than at PG w/ Harris and Alston there. Granger should be given PF, w/ Indy’s fast pace system (they even have sound effects on fast breaks for crying out loud!) As for KG, I don’t see him as C-eligible, as I am now perusing the “Players” link. Ben Gordon should be given PG, as news mentioned he will get some time there. Westbrook is a combo guard as well (he played off of Earl Watson when he was still in OKC). AR w/ no SF is absurd. My man Ariza will play some 2-guard now in Houston. Moon should be given PF eligibility, as I am sure CLE will want to use his versatility while LeBron is on the floor. And how does all this add up w/ Rudy (the guy who dunked on Dwight) Fernandez still PG-eligible versus SF?
